Run by brand owner Alana Oates (the name “Llani” is in fact her childhood nickname), the brand works with artisans and craftsmen from India. The chosen factories Llani work with are either female-founded or family-owned, where female workers have strong leadership roles at each factory.
(@llani.shop)“When I founded Llani I knew I wanted to be working in India,” explained Oates in an interview with The Particulars. “I had traveled there before and instantly felt connected to the country and its culture. It was thanks to some wonderful contacts that led me to launch.”
Oates explains she has a small team in Delhi that helps her find the right vendors for each individual item, and with which she develops her products together. “It’s amazingly helpful to have eyes and ears right there,” she notes. “When I’m able to travel, I spend days at a time working alongside the vendors to create unique designs tailored to each craftsman’s expertise.”
Indeed, the brand takes great care to work with only high-quality materials such as leather, suede, and genuine shearling. Thier embellishments—beading, trims, and motifs, are delicately created by hand by artisans and skilled workers. Each of them has creative input in the brand’s designs making it a collaborative effort.
“I wanted to create a brand for a fiercely independent woman, a bold-spirited creative like myself,” writes Oates on the brand’s website. “The women in my life inspire me with their ambition and taste for the elegant things in life. Although she may be always on the go—gracefully balancing family, friends, and career—a sense of feeling at home is important to her. Our slippers, flats, and slides give her that comfort of home, from anywhere—at her desk, on the plane, or running to the florist…”

The model is not new —it was launched two years ago—but it’s currently one of the most popular items from the brand thanks to the new reality that 2020 brought us.
In 2020, there weren’t many opportunities to dress up and go out. Most weddings and other celebrations were canceled, nights out turned into leisure nights at home, and we didn’t even dress up for work since work from home became the new normal. All this affected the fashion trends. High heels were replaced by sneakers and elegant outfits couldn’t beat tracksuits and other comfortable combinations. Even the major high fashion brands saw a decline in their elegant shoe sales and had to adapt to the changing world.

]]>According to Julia Toledano, putting a new pair of shoes gives you confidence. As simple as that. The mastermind behind iconic shoe brand, Nodaleto, Toledano aims to give you that feeling of confidence, with an attitude that screams “these boots were made for walking”.
“I’ve always had a special relationship with shoes,” Toledano shared in an interview with Harper’s BAZAAR. Shoes, as it turns out, are also very personal for Toledano. “Every happy moment of life has become an excuse to buy a new pair of shoes,” says the brand owner, “my birthday, the end of the school year, sometimes for comfort after a breakup.”
With the design studio behind the brand based between Paris and Los Angeles, and the shoes themselves made in Venice, Nodaleto has that air of luxury that every fashion brand aims for. Introduced in February 2019, it had already caught the attention of Instagirls worldwirde, and has been one of the most noticed brands of Paris FW19 fashion week.
“I get my inspiration from furniture design, to architecture, a very famous teenage movie from the ’00s or TV shows like Friends,” says Toledano. But her shoes also have a timeless chic to them, that makes them the ultimate addition to your wardrobe. Here are some of our favorite pairs:

“The collection was inspired by the confidence and glamour leading ladies exude when walking the red carpet, mixed with the idea of fantasy,” Creative Director Sandra Choi said in a statement. “Each style has a femininity, seductiveness, and the finesse of couture.”
It consists of 13 incredible pieces that are everything you will ever need when it comes to shoes and bags for special occasions. 10 luxurious pairs of shoes and three evening handbags are everything we can think of these days and they were all designed with neutral colors in mind so they could be worn with many different outfits, on all kinds of events.
The prices start at $895 for the least expensive shoes and go up to $2,475 for two of the bags.

]]>Pernille Teisbaek launched her blog Look de Pernille in 2012 and quickly became one of the most popular street style bloggers from Scandinavia. She has a distinctive style and knows how to combine everyday outfits, so it’s not surprising she became so popular. The rise of Instagram made her move to this platform, just like millions of other bloggers. Right now, she’s approaching 700,000 followers and this is something that just doesn’t happen overnight. Teisbaek is also the founder of the marketing agency Social Zoo.
The next step for Teisbaek will be launching her own shoe collection. She’s collaborating with Italian brand Gia Couture and the collection will be available starting February 2020. The collection consists of only three models, which is actually very fitting considering Teisbaek’s minimalistic style. She’s designing sandals with two wide straps, a model that combines mules and flip flops, and a pair of flat sandals.
