]]>Razer is a tech company famous for gaming hardware and accessories. Their designs are often innovative and first of their kind on the market, and the same is true for their latest gaming chair concept. Project Brooklyn‘s most prominent feature is a foldable display that can be hidden within the chair when not in use.
The display can extend to a maximum size of 60 inches and the company says it features “stunning visual detail and quality.” There’s another thing that can be taken out of the chair—a fold-out table similar to tables found in some luxury cars.
“Project Brooklyn is an exciting concept developed on the true essence of a fully immersive gaming station,” Razer CEO Min-Liang Tan said in a statement. “The haptic feedback, visuals, and overall functional design with attention to ergonomics will deliver a one-of-a-kind gameplay experience.”
We don’t expect such a chair to be available for buying anytime soon as it’s still in the concept phase, but it’s exciting to see what Razer is working on and how they plan to implement some of the futuristic features.

]]>Amazon One is a new service from Amazon. It’s a brand new way to pay without contact by scanning your palm. It won’t be used just for payments, but also for many other things that require authentication. For now, it will be set up in some Amazon Go stores before it becomes a common thing everywhere.
The registration is fairly simple and it involves inserting your credit card in the device for the first time and hovering your palm over the device to connect it with the given card. After you sign up, you can use your palm for payments that are easier than ever!
The device works by analyzing several aspects of your palm. Since no two palms are the same, this should be one of the safest modes of contactless payment. Your biometric data will be protected and the Amazon One devices are supposed to have multiple security controls. They won’t store the image of your palm but encrypt it and send it to the cloud to recognize. If you want, you’ll be able to delete the data.
It’s possible to sign up without an Amazon account, you only need a credit card and a phone number. Would you give this payment option a try?

]]>Google Robotics team successfully managed to get a robot to teach itself how to walk without programming its moves. They used a type of machine learning that relies on psychology concepts in order to avoid programming specific commands related to walking, and it worked – the robot basically thought itself how to walk.
Self-taught robotic machines are still undeveloped, which makes this discovery pretty important. It basically proved that the concept works, and you can see how they did it in the video below.
The lead author of the study, Sehoon Ha, published a paper in which he describes how difficult this was. He explained that you can model a road to the tiniest detail, and it still doesn’t help the robot walk down the unfamiliar path. “For this reason, we aim to develop a deep [reinforcement learning] system that can learn to walk autonomously in the real world,” he wrote.
The robot is so advanced, it didn’t even require manual resets during training. The previous robot Ha made in December 2018, for instance, required 100 manual resets.

]]>Huawei has announced a new, foldable smartphone that will come with a steep price tag, but with no Google apps, which makes it pretty much useless for customers in Europe and the U.S. It’s aimed towards customers in China, and it will cost around $2,700 once it’s released.
Huawei Mate Xs comes with numerous innovative features. It’s similar to their Mate X model, which also never made it out of China.
The new Xs will come with a folding display that measures 8 inches when unfolded and 6.6 inches when folded. The 4,500mAh battery is enough to support the strong processor and new cameras will give the users an opportunity to take amazing photos with their foldable pocket device.
Unfortunately, the Mate Xs won’t come with Google apps, which is why we mentioned it will only be popular in China. The main out of its four cameras is a 40-megapixel lens, and the remaining three are a 16-MP wide-angle sensor, an 8-MP telephoto camera, and a 3D camera. ]]>Each year, there are more and more copies of luxury fashion garments, and bags are among the most popular items that are copied. According to Hypebeast, 5,300 copies of designer garments were confiscated in L.A. in August 2019 alone, so you can imagine how the numbers add up.
Luxury goods company LVMH decided to help put an end to this practice. The French conglomerate released an app that uses artificial intelligence to discover which designer bags are actually fake. The app is called Entrupy and it’s a part of their prestigious program La Maison des Startups.
Right now, the app supports validating the authenticity of bags by brands like Balenciaga, Chanel, Dior, Fendi, Gucci, Louis Vuitton, and Hermès.
Each bag that enters this system goes through the authentication process while artificial intelligence uses around 500 data items about each product to determine if it’s real or fake. The app needs only a few seconds to generate the result, and it’s correct in over 99% of the cases.
Who would’ve known that the luxury fashion market would merge with technical developments one day?
