Green is the first color people think of when someone mentions Wicked and Cynthia Erivo honored the legacy of this musical by wearing several green looks by Louis Vuitton, Marc Jacobs, and Erdem.
Erivo didn’t only stick to green while promoting Wicked and we’ve seen her embrace her villain era in a series of dramatic black gowns. Louis Vuitton was her main partner in crime, but she also joined forces with Schiaparelli, Thom Brown, and Dior.
As for Ariana Grande, pink was her go-to color during the Wicked promo tour. She joined forces with the likes of Thom Brown, Vivienne Westwood, Versace, and Louis Vuitton to create a series of pink-tastic looks inspired by her character Glinda.
Even when she wasn’t wearing pink, Grande’s outfits featured subtle nods to the original Wicked musical and The Wizard of Oz. Several of her looks were inspired by Dorothy, while her yellow dress for London was a homage to Glinda’s yellow dress from the musical.
Erivo wasn’t the only Wicked star serving witchy vibes. Michelle Yeoh joined her in a classy black gown in LA, which she paired with a Madame Morrible-inspired blonde wig.

The Color Purple draws inspiration from Alice Walker’s iconic book of the same name, but it’s not your classic adaptation. It’s actually based on the stage musical that put an interesting twist on its original story about the life-long struggles of an African-American woman living in the South during the early 20th century.
Mean Girls is one of the most iconic teen comedies of the 2000s, and it was just a matter of time before we got a Gen-Z version with a new cast. This film won’t be a direct remake because it’s mostly based on the stage musical of the same name, but the expectations are running high since Tina Fey returned to write the script.
The Wicked adaptation was a long time coming since it’s one of the most impactful Broadway musicals of the 21st century. Jon M. Chu decided to adapt it into two films, led by Cynthia Erivo as Elphaba and Ariana Grande as Glinda, set to come out in 2024 and 2025.
