The list of Emmy Awards nominations is in, with Succession, Ted Lasso, and The White Lotus leading the way. The Television Academy did a great job recognizing some of the best TV projects of the past year, but it was also quite a shocker to see how many beloved shows failed to make the cut.

Snub: This Is Us

This Is Us used to be Emmy’s darling, but those days are long behind us. Its final season was largely shut out by the Television Academy, with Sterling K. Brown and Mandy Moore failing to score nods for their amazing performances.

Surprise: Sydney Sweeney

Fans of Euphoria were pushing for Sydney Sweeney to receive an Emmy nod ever since the second season came out. She exceeded everyone’s wildest expectations and became a double nominee with Euphoria and The White Lotus.

Snub: Selena Gomez

Only Murders in the Building received a total of 17 nominations at this year’s Emmys, but the Television Academy didn’t show Selena Gomez any love for her performance.

Surprise: Abbott Elementary

Abbott Elementary deserves every word of praise coming its way, but it was still a shocker to see Emmy voters fully embrace this broadcast network series in the era of streaming.

Snub: Acclaimed Comedies

It’s amazing to see Abbott Elementary get so much acclaim, but many critically acclaimed comedies weren’t so lucky, including Atlanta, Black-ish, and Reservation Dogs.

Surprise: Yellowjackets

Yellowjackets is one of Showtime’s biggest hits in recent memory, but it was still a huge surprise to see it embraced by Emmys and receive multiple nominations for its rookie season including outstanding drama.
