The Emmy nominations are finally in, with Succession, The Last of Us, and The White Lotus leading the HBO sweep. Many beloved TV shows made the cut, but the nomination day also brought several pretty shocking snubs and surprises our way.

Snub: Yellowstone Universe

Emmy voters didn’t show much love to the shows from the Yellowstone saga, and the omission of Harrison Ford and Helen Mirren for their roles in the prequel 1923 was especially jarring.

Snub: House of the Dragon Cast

House of the Dragon nabbed the best drama nod, but the race in acting categories is so crammed this year that the stellar performances from Paddy Considine and Emma D’Arcy failed to make a cut.

Surprise: Obi-Wan Kenobi

The list of nominated shows for outstanding limited or anthology series was full of surprises, with Black Bird missing out, making room for such unexpected nominees as Fleishman Is in Trouble, Daisy Jones & the Six, and Obi-Wan Kenobi.

Surprise: Jury Duty

One of the most pleasant surprises this year saw the acclaimed, but overlooked comedy Jury Duty unexpectedly score the best comedy nod.

Snub: Best Comedy Field

Even though it was nice to see Jury Duty get credit where credit is due, watching the Television Academy completely ignore Poker Face, The Other Two, and Reservation Dogs left a sour taste in our mouths.

Snub: Bad Sisters

The star-studded Irish black comedy Bad Sisters was one of the most delightful new series to premiere last year, but Emmy voters didn’t seem to vibe with it.
