We can always count on the Academy Awards to bring some amazing red carpet trends our way, and this year’s ceremony didn’t disappoint. From dazzling metallic gowns to method dressing moments, here are three fashion trends that gave us the best red carpet moments at this year’s Oscars.

All That Sparkle

This year’s Oscars were all about that sparkle, and some of the night’s best looks came in the shades of silver. Halle Berry rocked our world in a Christian Siriano mirror dress, while Selena Gomez’s golden Ralph Lauren gown featured 16,000 hand-sewn Rosemont crystals. Silver was the night’s trendiest color, thanks to the likes of Demi Moore, Felicity Jones, Mindy Kaling, and Yvonne Orji.

Barbiecore Vibes

Barbiecore isn’t going out of style just yet, and many of Hollywood’s brightest young stars have embraced this trend with open arms. Mikey Madison collected her Oscar for Anora in a classy pink and black dress by Dior, but Ariana Grande, Monica Barbaro, and Rachel Sennott were right behind.

Method Dressing

Method dressing made its comeback at the Academy Awards, largely thanks to Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo, who used the power of fashion to pay homage to their Wicked characters. Demi Moore’s sparkly Armani Privé gown was a homage to her The Substance character Elisabeth Sparkle, while the color of Zoe Saldaña’s Saint Laurent dress was a nod to the burgundy velvet suit she wore while singing “El Mal” in Emilia Pérez.
