If you’re always in the mood to discover some new films with fierce female heroines, you’ll spend a lot of time at the movie theatre this July. Many amazing girl power films are coming our way in the next few weeks and here are three that you should put on your watch list.

Thor: Love and Thunder

Chris Hemsworth may still be the leading man of the new Thor film, but he’s no longer the only one wielding the hammer. Natalie Portman is coming on board as Mighty Thor, after gaining power similar to Thor’s after undergoing cancer treatment.

The Princess

After years of starring in teen romcoms and dramas, Joey King is finally ready to become an action heroine! Her new Hulu film sees her taking a role of a strong-willed princess, who must escape from captivity and save her kingdom after being kidnapped and locked away because she refused to wed a ruthless and vindictive suitor.

Where the Crawdads Sing

The adaptation of Delia Owens’ best-selling novel doesn’t feature any female superheroes or warriors, but that’s not stopping it from being one of the summer’s most-anticipated female-driven films. It focuses on a lonely young woman who grew up on her own in the marshes of the deep South and later becomes a suspect in a shocking murder.
