Black With a Twist
Dramatic black outfits were all the rage at this year’s MTV VMAs. The list of celebrities who showed up wearing this trend is pretty much endless, but we have to single out Lizzo, Lil Nas X, Sofia Carson, and members of Blackpink.
Metallic Vibes
Silver accents were also going strong at MTV VMAs. Taylor Swift embraced this trend with her Oscar de la Renta mini dress, but so did Fergie, Chloe Bailey, and Shenseea.
Dramatic Florals
Dramatic floral outfits were worn by several stars attending this year’s MTV VMAs including Sabrina Carpenter, Dove Cameron, and Dylan O’Brien.

If we had to pick the most surprising trend at this year’s ceremony, bright green outfits would make the cut. Ava Max, Latto, and Lauren Spencer Smith are among the celebrities who put this rising trend on the map.
Barbiecore
Barbiecore is summer’s No. 1 fashion trend and it goes without saying it was present at MTV VMAs. Nicki Minaj is definitely its biggest fan, but Lizzo and Trina Njoroge also embraced it.
