Sex and the City
Emily in Paris is basically the 2020 version of Sex and the City, which isn’t much of a surprise since Darren Star created both shows.
Younger
Younger was also created by Star, and it centers on a 40-year-old divorcee who pretends she’s much younger than she really is in an attempt to boost her professional and personal life.
Jane by Design
Jane by Design is another reversed identity show similar to Younger. It follows the adventures of a teenage girl who lands her dream job in the fashion industry after being mistaken for an adult.
The Bold Type
The Bold Type centers on three BFFs working for a prestigious fashion magazine. It’s similar in tone to Emily in Paris because it follows millennial female protagonists with amazing fashion sense and thriving careers.
Girlboss
Speaking of stylish millennial leads, the main character in this series was inspired by Nasty Gal founder Sophia Amoruso and she’s basically Emily Cooper outside of Paris.
