Last year we received the ultimate Christmas gift—Netflix dropped Bridgerton. And nearly a half a year later, we’re still talking about the romance series. Netflix has produced a second season and the show has been renewed for a third and fourth season. But that’s not all of the exciting news—Bridgerton is getting a spinoff!

The new series, written by Bridgerton executive producer Shonda Rhimes, will focus on Queen Charlotte (played by Golda Rosheuvel) and her life as a young woman before she married King George III. The show will also show the lives of (played by Violet Gemmell) and Lady Danbury (Adjoah Andoh).

“All Hail The Queen!,” Netflix wrote. “Thrilled to announce we’re expanding the Bridgerton universe with a limited series that will tell Queen Charlotte’s origin story—the series will also feature young Violet Bridgerton and young Lady Danbury.”

Details regarding casting of young Charlotte, Violet, and Lady Danbury haven’t been released yet. No release date has been set yet.

“Many viewers had never known the story of Queen Charlotte before Bridgerton brought her to the world, and I’m thrilled this new series will further expand her story and the world of Bridgerton,” said Netflix head of global TV Bela Bajaria in a statement.
