Beyoncé Wore the Iconic Tiffany Diamond & Here’s Why It’s a Big Deal

We can count on Beyoncé to break the internet with each photo she shares on Instagram, but she took things to a whole new level with her recent posts. The R&B icon took part in Tiffany’s latest campaign “About Love” alongside Jay-Z, and one detail in their photoshoot caught everyone’s eye—the iconic Tiffany Diamond.

This Diamond weighs 128.54 carats and boasts 82 facets, and it’s often been hailed as one of the most important gemstone discoveries of the 19th century. Its worth an estimated $30 million, and Beyoncé is the first Black woman to ever wear it since its discovery in 1877.

Before Queen Bey took part in Tiffany’s latest campaign, the iconic Tiffany Diamond was worn by only three other women—socialite Mrs. E. Sheldon Whitehouse in 1957, Audrey Hepburn in 1961 while promoting her iconic film Breakfast at Tiffany’s, and Lady Gaga while attending the 2019 Academy Awards.

Tiffany’s “About Love” campaign was meant to embody “the beauty of love through time and all its diverse facets, forging a new vision of love today.” Alexandre Arnault, the brand’s EVP of product and communications, felt that Beyoncé and Jay-Z are the perfect couple to front this campaign because they’re “the epitome of the modern love story” and added they’re honored the have them as a part of the Tiffany family.
