Charlie Brooker has hinted that there could be sequels to some of our favorite Black Mirror episodes.

If you’re a fan of Black Mirror, you’ll know that each episode is set in its own world and brings us a new set of characters. Although there are hints across the series that suggest some of the episodes could be set in the same world, new episodes never revisit old characters.

This is great because it means we are treated with unique concepts and storylines each season, but it also means we don’t get to find out what happens to our favorite characters next.

Black Mirror creator Charlie Brooker, however, has revealed that there could be sequels in the pipeline.

In the new companion book, Inside Black Mirror, Brooker suggested that a sequel to the infamous episode White Bear is a real possibility. The protagonist of the episode faces one of the most troubling fates of the series yet and fans have speculated over whether she is doomed to live out this unpleasant fate indefinitely.

“That was something we discussed at the time, as a potential expansion of the story,” Brooker said. “What if she becomes aware that this is going on, and starts rebelling against it?”

He also discussed a potential sequel to one of the series’ most popular episodes San Junipero.  “I wouldn’t necessarily want to revisit those characters [Yorkie and Kelly], because we’re very happy with where they ended up and their story,” he explained. “But that’s not to say that we couldn’t revisit that world if there was a compelling reason to do so.”
