Did You Love “Ratched”? Here are 4 More Ryan Murphy Shows to Check Out

Ryan Murphy’s latest Netflix show Ratched took us on the journey of the origin story of One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest’s villain, Nurse Ratched. In the eight-episode series, we saw the nurse go from bitter to a full-out monster to her patients during her early days at Lucia State Hospital and we’re hoping the show gets a second season. But until then, if you loved the story-telling and dark nature of Ratched, check out these other Ryan Murphy shows.

Scream Queens

Scream Queens premiered in 2015 and had two seasons before being canceled. The series was a mix of comedy with slasher flicks and it followed the murders committed by a serial killer that took place on a college campus. The target for the murders was the Kappa House sorority which was run by Chanel (Emma Roberts), and the rest of the cast included Lea Michele, Abigail Breslin, Billie Lourd, Jamie Lee Curtis, Ariana Grande, and Nick Jonas.

The Politician

The Politician, starring Ben Platt as rich kid Payton, premiered in 2019 and has had two seasons on Netflix. Payton dreams of becoming President, but first, he must navigate his way through high school. In the second season, he fights for a seat in the State Senate.

American Horror Story

If you can’t get enough of Sarah Paulson, be sure to watch American Horror Story which has a similar feel to Ratched. You’ll also see Ratched actors Jon Jon Briones (Dr. Hanover) and Finn Wittrock (Edmund Tolleson). AHS is an anthology of stories that takes place in a house with a deadly secret, a demented asylum, a witch coven, a hotel, an unusual show, a cult, and an apocalypse. There are nine seasons, so you’ll be busy for a while with this one.

The 2020 drama takes place in post-World War II Hollywood with aspiring actors and filmmakers doing whatever it takes to make their dreams of appearing in showbusiness come true.
