Embrace Summer’s Hottest Fashion Trend with Linenfox

When it comes to fashion, this past year has put comfort at the very forefront. But as we slowly transition back to workwear, there’s still room for comfort, especially when it comes to the materials we choose. While cotton has always been a go-to when it comes to comfortable chic, 2021 is all about linen. Durable, resilient, and even biodegradable, it is the ideal fabric for warmer weather.

One linen brand you’d want to check out this summer is Linenfox. Based in Lithuania and run by husband-and-wife duo Airidas Margelis and Ingrida Margelė, the brand offers hundreds of apparel options (including jumpsuits, tunics, and even aprons), in an array of colors.

“Linen is a well-made cloth that’s durable, feels good against your skin, and gets softer and more beautiful with each wear,” explained Margelė in an interview with the Etsy blog. “Ours is made locally here in Lithuania. Another important factor is that linen is a natural fabric, which means it can go back to nature when the garment is totally worn out. That’s right—linen can even be composted.”

Indeed, sustainability is at the core of Linenfox’s practice, with each of its pieces made to order so as to avoid unnecessary clothing production. Being a make-to-order business also enables the brand to offer customers flexibility (customers can actually customize their garments to some degree), which means the end result is tailored to their customers rather than the other way around.

Founded in 2014, the brand aimed to create sustainable pieces that could be affordable for women who seek value and quality. “One thing that encouraged me to embark on this journey was the fact that I could not find simple, neutral linen clothes that I would like to wear every day,” admitted Margelė.

According to Margelė, another benefit of linen is that is can be layered effectively, meaning you can wear it for every weather and occasion. “What I really like about linen is that it looks great when layered with cotton, wool, and other natural fabrics,” stressed Margelė. “It’s great for hot weather, and it can be layered nicely on chillier days.”
