Taylor Swift has been pretty busy working on re-recordings of her old catalog, but she’s finally ready to surprise us with some new music! The Grammy-winning artist announced the release of her tenth studio album Midnights and here’s everything we know about it so far.
Release Date
Swift announced her next album while accepting the trophy for the video of the year at the MTV VMAs, and said it will hit the shelves on October 21. Midnights is already available for pre-order—both as a standard digital version and as a vinyl, CD, or cassette.
Album’s Meaning
Shortly after teasing the release of Midnights at the MTV VMAs, she confirmed its release on social media and revealed what this record is all about.
“This is a collection of music written in the middle of the night, a journey through terrors and sweet dreams. The floors we pace and the demons we face. For all of us who have tossed and turned and decided to keep the lanterns lit and go searching—hoping that just maybe, when the clock strikes twelve … we’ll meet ourselves,” wrote Swift on Instagram.
Tracklist
The full tracklist of Midnights remains a mystery and Swift is yet to announce the first single, but we already know a thing or two about it. The album will feature a total of 13 tracks and Swift says they tell the stories of 13 sleepless nights scattered throughout her life.
