Everything We Learned About “The Batman” During DC FanDome Panel

Robert Pattinson in "The Batman"

DC FanDome Panel took place last week and cemented the future of the studio’s most anticipated projects, including The Batman starring Robert Pattinson. The director Matt Reeves dropped the gritty teaser for this superhero flick and shared some important info with the fans.

Partly Finished

The first teaser perfectly sets the tone for this movie, but The Batman is actually only 25% finished. The production is expected to resume next month.

Not an Origins Tale

Everyone’s aware of Batman’s origins tale, and Reeves is not interested in retelling it. This movie won’t show him mastering his fear in an attempt to become a superhero. We’ll meet him in the middle of a criminological experiment and watch him make mistakes instead.

Central Theme

According to Reeves, the new movie will center on the “epic history of corruption in Gotham”, and explore where Bruce Wayne’s family belongs in the grand scheme of things.

Main Villain

Reeves also said that Paul Dano will play a version of the Riddler we’ve never seen before, and he’s expected to be the main villain of this story. The Batman will also introduce us to Colin Farrell’s The Penguin and Zoe Kravitz’s Catwoman.
