Revivals and reboots will be all the rage in 2021, and we had to pick the most anticipated one, we’d go with the new version of Gossip Girl. This series is coming to HBO Max later this year, and here’s everything we know about it so far.
Plotline
According to the official logline, the revival will take place eight years after the original series. It will introduce a new generation of New York private school teens, and explore how much social media and the landscape of NYC changed over the course of the past decade.
Connection to the Original
The new show will share DNA with the original Gossip Girl, and some of the beloved characters will be mentioned through passing. It’s still unclear if any of them will return for a cameo, apart from Kristen Bell, who’s set to voice the titular narrator.
Cast and Characters
The latest news we got from the Gossip Girl camp is the first look at the main cast. Emily Alyn Lind, Thomas Doherty, and Whitney Peak were previously announced as some of the main cast members, and HBO Max recently revealed the names of their characters and words that best describe them, such as influence, ambition, and privilege.
