If you need more proof that women can do it all, just take a look at the music videos of some of your favorite female artists. Many of them have shown us another hidden talent by self-directing their own music videos in the last few months.
Billie Eilish – “Therefore I Am”
Billie Eilish filmed her latest music video with an iPhone at an empty shopping mall. To make the whole thing even more impressive, “Therefore I Am” isn’t her first self-directed visual since she previously helmed music videos for “Xanny” and “Everything I Wanted”.
Miley Cyrus – “Midnight Sky”
Miley Cyrus’ disco-tinged and ‘80s-inspired single “Midnight Sky” perfectly captures her new edgy approach to music and she took full control of its visual representation by directing the music video on her own.
Taylor Swift – “Cardigan”
Swift previously won the MTV VMA award for best direction with “The Man”, but what makes “Cardigan” equally impressive is that she also did her own styling, makeup, hair, and everything else in between, in addition to directing the music video.
Teyana Taylor – “Lose Each Other”
Most people will remember Taylor’s song “Lose Each Other” for the unexpected Elton John cameo, but we’re more impressed by the fact she was in charge of directing the whole thing on her own.
