German Student Invents Mobile Airbag That Protects Phones When They Fall

Philip Frenzel, a German student from Aalen Univesity, has invented a unique airbag that protects our mobile devices from breaking when they fall down.

It’s called ADcase and it’s already won Frenzel an award from the German Society for Mechatronics.

The young inventor realized he should make the airbag after a failed attempt to find a phone case good enough to protect his phone. Understanding that there’s a gap in the market, he worked hard to fill it in the best possible way.

It took him more than two years to create ADcase. It will be compatible with iPhone 6 and newer, and the Kickstarter campaign for it will begin this month. Here’s how the device works.
