Body shaming is something that many celebrities experience, with people using the internet as a platform to offer unsolicited opinions and criticisms. Thankfully, celebrities have been speaking up about how inappropriate and damaging these comments can be. That’s what Camila Cabello did on her TikTok recently, sharing a helpful, body-positive message.

The 24-year old singer, who has recently announced that she is going to release a new single on July 23rd, took to TikTok to share her experience, saying, “I was just running in the park minding my own business trying to be fit, trying to keep it healthy. And I am wearing a top that shows my belly.”

“And I wasn’t tucking it in, because I was running and existing like a normal person that doesn’t tuck it in all the time. And I was like, ‘Damn.”

She finished on an inspiring, uplifting note, saying, “but then I reminded myself being at war with your body is so last season. I am grateful for this body that lets me do what I need to do. We are real women with curves and cellulite and stretch marks and fat. And we gotta own that, baby.”

Despite her light tone throughout the video, Cabello’s comments point to a serious, very current issue and align with the views of the body positivity movement, which is growing stronger than it ever has before. We hope her TikTok can help other women feel just as grateful for their own bodies!
