Get Inspired by These Knitwear Trends Straight From the Runway

You know it’s fall once people start breaking out their knitwear. Year after year, we look forward to wearing our favorite chunky sweaters, and this year, knitwear’s gotten some updates like longer silhouettes, luxurious fabrics, and low necklines. Like it or not, this season’s all about head to toe knitwear and these are the trends straight from the runway.

Sweater Vests

Sweater vests are in hot demand now and if you find one, snag it before it’s gone. Seen on the Prada, Dior, Gucci, and Kenneth Ize runways, sweater vests look great paired with a white button-up or turtleneck.

Matching Cardigan & Top

Last August, Katie Holmes’ Khaite matching cardigan and bra look went viral and other designers hopped onto the trend like Altuzarra and No. 21. Just throw on some denim and over-the-knee boots for a totally cute fall look.

Puff-Sleeves

Puff-sleeves have been taking over dresses, blouses, and now they’ve moved onto knits. They were seen on the Ulla Johnson, Isabel Marant, and Fendi runways.

Cardigans

It’s no wonder that cardigans are super popular after Taylor Swift sang about them. A simple cardigan is a wardrobe must-have that never goes out of style and Miu Miu, Prada, and Marc Jacobs showed that on their runways.

Cutouts

Sweaters with cutouts may seem pointless, but before completely dismissing the look, give open-shoulder ones a try. Christopher Kane showed one paired with a matching skirt and over-the-knee boots and Victoria Beckham’s show had one with layered over a button-up.
