No, you’re not seeing a typo. We’re not referring to HIIT, we’re talking about HILIT. Like HIIT, which stands for High Intensity Interval Training, HILIT is a high intensity exercise, but it’s a bit different. It’s the latest fitness craze and you’re about to see people doing it all over social media and at the gym. So, what is HILIT?

While HIIT involves short bursts of high intensity cardio followed by short rest periods, it can be hard on your body with all of the jumping and explosive movements. HILIT stands for High Intensity Low Impact Training and it’s less impact on your muscles and joints, but it’s still just as intense. During this exercise, your feet never go off the ground so there’s no running, jumping, or burpees. Phew. Instead, there are lunges, planks, mountain climbers, and inchworms.

HILIT is perfect for everyone from beginners and those who are injured to people who’ve been exercising for a long time. You’ll still get a great workout, but it’s easier on your joints. One of the best things about this workout that like HIIT, you don’t need any special equipment or weights, all you need is your body and some space.
