Adam Shankman was expected to helm the sequel, but he was replaced with Anne Fletcher because he’s currently busy directing the Enchanted sequel Disenchanted.
Plot Points
According to the official synopsis, Hocus Pocus 2 will center on three young women who accidentally bring the Sanderson Sisters back to modern-day Salem and must figure out how to stop them from wreaking a new kind of havoc on the world.
Release Date
Hocus Pocus 2 is scheduled to start filming in Salem, Massachusetts this summer, and it’s set to premiere next year. The project still doesn’t have the official release date, and it’s expected to premiere exclusively on Disney+, while its potential theatrical release is yet to be confirmed.
