Rumors about a potential Hocus Pocus sequel have been circling around for quite some time, but Disney finally made things official. The Sanderson sisters are getting ready to work some magic on Disney+ next year, but what can we expect once they return into our lives?
If you can’t imagine Hocus Pocus without Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Kathy Najimy—don’t despair! All three stars confirmed they’re coming back for the sequel. Adam Shankman was expected to helm the sequel, but he was replaced with Anne Fletcher because he’s currently busy directing the Enchanted sequel Disenchanted.
According to the official synopsis, Hocus Pocus 2 will center on three young women who accidentally bring the Sanderson Sisters back to modern-day Salem and must figure out how to stop them from wreaking a new kind of havoc on the world.
Hocus Pocus 2 is scheduled to start filming in Salem, Massachusetts this summer, and it’s set to premiere next year. The project still doesn’t have the official release date, and it’s expected to premiere exclusively on Disney+, while its potential theatrical release is yet to be confirmed.
