E! is giving viewers a front-row seat to the New York City premiere of The Odyssey with a red carpet livestream set for July 14 at 6 p.m. ET/3 p.m. PT. The one-hour special will come from AMC Lincoln Square and will be hosted by Justin Sylvester.
The livestream is expected to feature interviews with a long list of the film’s stars, including Matt Damon, Zendaya, Tom Holland, Anne Hathaway, Lupita Nyong’o, Charlize Theron, Mia Goth, Elliot Page and Robert Pattinson. According to the report, fans can also expect fashion moments and behind-the-scenes details about making the film.
Viewers will be able to watch the premiere coverage on E! Online, the E! News app and Peacock, as well as across social platforms including Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, X and Facebook through the accounts for E! News, E! Entertainment, Fandango, Rotten Tomatoes, SYFY and USA Network. The film itself, based on Homer’s classic poem, follows Odysseus, played by Damon, on his long journey home after the Trojan War to Penelope, played by Hathaway, and his son Telemachus, played by Holland.
Christopher Nolan recently said the story felt personal because it centers on family, and he noted that several of his children worked on the production in crew roles. He also said they were not given glamorous jobs, but that having them around was meaningful. The Odyssey opens in theaters on July 17.
