Doctor Who will return on New Year’s Day for a holiday special and the showrunners have now revealed that James Buckley will be making a guest appearance.

Buckley is the young actor who took on the icon role of Jay in the tragic teen comedy, The Inbetweeners. If you can’t quite place which one Jay was, look back at the most cringy and obscene things that were said across the series. Jay probably said them.

The Doctor Who showrunners have been keeping details of the New Year’s Day special close to their chest, but they have now confirmed that Buckley will have a guest role. No details have yet been revealed about his character but we do know that his episode will be “action-packed,” according to producer Matt Strevens.

Buckley said (via Digitial Spy) of his casting, “It was surreal to be on such an iconic show and I’m really happy to be part of something so well loved. Hope everyone enjoys it!”
