It’s difficult to think of a current celebrity who’s better at marketing themselves than Lil Nas X. The Gen-Z rapper doesn’t shy away from anything when it comes to promoting his new music, and he’s taking things to a whole new level with his upcoming album Montero.
Lil Nas X’s really kept us waiting for his album cover, but it was worth the wait. Montero is hitting the shelves on September 17, and the cover art shows the rapper levitating in the air in the technicolor version of the Garden of Eden, inspired by John Stephens’ painting Genesis II.
Shortly after sharing the album cover with the world, Lil Nas X shared a full tracklist. In addition to featuring previously released singles “Montero (Call Me by Your Name)”, “Sun Goes Down”, and the Jack Harlow collaboration “Industry Baby”. Montero will also feature collaboration with Elton John, Megan Thee Stallion, Miley Cyrus, and Doja Cat.
Shortly after Drake dropped the meme-worthy cover of his latest album Certified Lover Boy, Lil Nas X joined in the fun and shared his own version, featuring twelve pregnant men emojis. He also posted a divisive pregnancy photoshoot with a fake baby bump and explained he decided to do it as a joke because his album is his baby.
