Norwegian swimmer Henrik Christiansen didn’t leave Paris with a medal, but he was still one of the Summer Game’s biggest viral stars thanks to his hilarious “Muffin Man” videos.

Imane Khelif endured intense online scrutiny regarding her gender during the Olympics, but still managed to come out stronger on the other side and win her first gold medal.

Gabriel Medina

The Brazilian surfer Gabriel Medina walked away with a Bronze medal and appeared in one of the most memorable photos from this year’s Olympics, which seemingly shows him floating mid-air.

Huang Yaqiong

Several couples got engaged at the Olympics in Paris, but Huang Yaqiong was the star of the most memorable proposal. Her teammate Liu Yuchen asked her to marry him after she won the mixed double gold in badminton.
