Netflix has shared the official trailer for Mowgli: Legend Of The Jungle.

The film will follow the life of Mowgli and his struggle to figure out where he really belongs. The film is set to be world’s apart from the cheerful Disney adaptation of The Jungle Book and will take a far darker turn.

You can watch the official trailer here:

At one point in the trailer, Mowgli asks his adopted parent: “Bagheera, why am I different?” and the panther replies: “You are special, little brother.”

Mowgli is no longer an innocent child anymore and as he develops his self-awareness, he becomes increasingly conscious of the fact that he is not a wolf, and finds himself torn between the jungle and the village of man.

The official Netflix description reads:

“Acclaimed actor and director Andy Serkis reinvents Rudyard Kipling’s beloved masterpiece, in which a boy torn between two worlds accepts his destiny and becomes a legend.

“Mowgli has never truly belonged in either the wilds of the jungle or the civilized world of man. Now he must navigate the inherent dangers of each on a journey to discover where he truly belongs.”

Mowgli: Legend Of The Jungle is set to be released later this year but no exact date has been announced.
