Netflix Will Give Us a New Movie Every Week Throughout 2021

Chris D'Elia, Garret Dillahunt, Ana de la Reguera, Matthias Schweighöfer, Omari Hardwick, Dave Bautista, Raúl Castillo, Nora Arnezeder, Samantha Win, and Ella Purnell in "Army of the Dead"

Netflix recently announced its movie slate for 2021, and it’s the most impressive one yet. The streaming giant currently has 70 movies on its roster for the upcoming year, and they’re promising we can expect at least one original movie per week in the months to come.

According to Netflix’s press release, they want this year’s line-up to “surprise and delight cinephiles across the globe with films from award-winning filmmakers.” Their movie slate isn’t all about quantity but quality, as well, since it includes projects from some of the world’s biggest and most critically acclaimed actors and filmmakers.

Some of the movies they singled out are Zack Snyder’s Army of the Dead, Adam McKay’s Don’t Look Up, and Jane Campion’s The Power of the Dog. The never-ending list of Hollywood superstars set to appear in Netflix movies this year includes the likes of Leonardo DiCaprio, Sandra Bullock, Dwayne Johnson, Zendaya, Jennifer Lawrence, and Ryan Reynolds.

Netflix is also expected to continue its hit teen movie series To All the Boys and The Kissing Booth, and introduce new ones—starting with Fear Street trilogy, based on R. L. Stine’s novels. Netflix’s slate couldn’t be more impressive, but we’re expecting it will expand as this streaming service acquires the rights for new movies throughout the year.
