Reducing plastic waste is crucial if we want to have a healthy planet for many years to come. People are becoming more and more aware of the negative effects plastic has on the environment, and many are replacing it with other materials whenever possible. Carrying your own water bottle instead of buying a disposable plastic one every day is a good thing, but it may not be enough. The real problem is – what do we do with the plastic that’s already in the environment?

A duo from Wellington, New Zealand, came to an idea to recycle old plastic bottles into eco-friendly raincoats. They are called Okewa and right now, they are getting funded on Kickstarter.

They are really devoted to creating perfectly designed pieces that you can wear whenever it rains without feeling guilty for using plastic. We love how they combine practical and elegant to make a product that is 100% wearable in many different situations.

Take a look at the pictures below and decide yourself – aren’t these raincoats amazing?
