Cat eye, the fishtail, the negative space one, and the Cleopatra—there have been so many eyeliner trends it’s hard to keep track of all of them. Celebrities and beauty bloggers have been experimenting with a new way to use eyeliner, and it’s not on the eyelids.

At the Paris Fashion Week recently, Gigi Hadid and Patrick Ta moved the liner from the bottom of the lid to the top, naming it the floating crease liner look.

Hadid’s white lines were perfectly straight, and they were paired with the model’s dewy skin, fluffy brows, and natural lipgloss.

“I love this trend because it’s showing that eyeliner can be used anywhere on the eye creating all different shapes and in different colors,” Patrick Ta, the makeup artist who created Hadid’s floating liner look, said to Elle.

“As makeup is evolving, more artists are trying out new things including graphic liner. You can create a dramatic graphic liner, or you can create a look as simple as a line across the lid like I did with Gigi,” Ta continued.

Hadid isn’t the only one sporting the trend; it’s quickly taken over Instagram. Check out these posts to see more takes on the floating crease liner look.
