Pillow Boots are the Latest Trend We Didn’t Know We Needed

When it comes to fashion, it’s best to expect the unexpected and the latest trend coming straight from the runways are pillow boots. A more stylish take on moon shoes made popular by Nickelodeon in the ’50s, Louis Vuitton premiered the shoe from Nicolas Ghesquière in their S/S 21 collection. The shoes, like many of the ones shown on the S/S 21 runway, are all about comfort.

Pillow shoes are ankle boots that are sock-like, crafted from quilted nylon. Of course, the shoes wouldn’t be complete without the brand’s iconic monogram logo. They also just launched this week, but we’re already seeing them on fashion influencers.

On the runway the pillow boots were styled with slouchy shorts, graphic dresses, and cropped collared tops, which proves that these wintery boots can be worn in any season.

We envision wearing them in a more relaxed, laid-back way with sweats or leggings for a cozy loungewear look. And while these shoes are casual, the monogram details make them more high-fashion and chic. They’re pretty much perfect for WFH outfits, which are the only things we’ve been wearing in 2020.

They’re available in three neutral shades—black, green, and white and they’ll set you back $1140. If you want to get in on the trend, but can’t afford the high price tag—which most of us can’t—other brands like The North Face, Sorel, Ganni, and Moncler have much more affordable options.
