Samsung’s newest Galaxy Watch 8 lineup arrived last summer, giving shoppers two different takes on the brand’s smartwatch design: the more affordable Galaxy Watch 8 and the higher-end Galaxy Watch 8 Classic. Right now, the Classic is the standout bargain, because the LTE version has dropped to $269.99 from its original $549.99.
According to the report, that is the lowest price the watch has reached so far. The Classic stands apart from the standard Galaxy Watch 8 thanks to its rotating bezel, which makes menu navigation easier. It also comes only in the larger 46mm size, while the regular model is sold in 40mm and 44mm versions.
Because this is the LTE edition, it can be used without keeping a phone nearby. That means users can head out for a run, listen to music, or take calls while leaving their phone at home. Samsung’s Galaxy watches are also said to offer around 30 hours of battery life on a charge.
For fitness use, the watches can sync treadmill workouts through Bluetooth FTMS, NFC tap-to-sync, or apps such as iFIT and Zwift. The report also notes features highlighted in early impressions and reviews, including running dynamics, heart rate zone guidance, customizable watch faces, and an antioxidant index that offers a look at diet-related health.
