“Saturday Night Live” Joins Late Night Shows Airing from Home

We all need some cheering up in the face of global health crises, and it comes in handy that many of our favorite late-night shows are airing from home right now. Saturday Night Live is the latest show to join this trend, and its first quarantine episode was a true delight.

Tom Hanks was in charge of hosting SNL’s comeback show, and he was the most perfect person to take on this role. The two-time Oscar winner filmed a monologue in the comfort of his own home and took a moment to reflect on his time recovering from coronavirus.

As always, Saturday Night Live used its sketches to reflect on current events. That’s why it’s not surprising that many of them were quarantine-themed – most notably “Zoom Call”, that you’re going to find extremely relatable if you’re working from home.

The first episode of SNL in quarantine gave us a glimpse into the lives of its stars and allowed them to shine individually since it’s close to impossible to work on group sketches in this environment. It’s still a worthy attempt, and it’s got us excited to see what else they’ve got in store.
