There’s been a lot of uncertainty surrounding the future of some of the most popular HBO shows in the face of the ongoing SAG-AFTRA strike. HBO chief Casey Bloys announced new seasons of the network’s most popular shows won’t see the light of day until 2025.
The White Lotus
The anthology series The White Lotus is heading to Thailand in Season 3, and its production is yet to kick off. It was supposed to premiere in 2024 before the strike, but Bloys said it will most likely move into 2025.
Welcome to Derry
Welcome To Derry is a highly-anticipated spin-off set in the world of Stephen King’s IT, and Bloys was hoping it would premiere just in time for Halloween 2024. This plan fell apart, and it’s most likely we won’t get to see this horror series until 2025.
The Last of Us
The video game adaptation The Last of Us is HBO’s biggest hit to premiere this year, and it’s eying a 2025 premiere date after kicking off production in early 2024.
Euphoria
The wait for the third season of Euphoria has been pretty long and it’s not over just yet. Sam Levinson’s teen drama will return in 2025, and its postponement is the biggest issue because most actors will age out of their roles.
