Ted Lasso Season 4 Drops a Sweet Taylor Swift Easter Egg in Kansas City

Ted Lasso season four opens with a playful pop-culture nod that ties Taylor Swift to one of the show’s Kansas City scenes. In the premiere, Rebecca Welton, Keeley Jones, and Leslie Higgins visit Ted in Missouri as they try to persuade him to come back to England and coach AFC Richmond’s new women’s team.

While the group is out shopping, they end up at a boutique called Dazzle Me Moi, where Rebecca is initially skeptical of the store’s glitter-heavy style. That changes once the owner explains how she built the business, saying she used a divorce settlement to start over and then hit a rough patch during a recession. According to the episode, the shop’s fortunes shifted after Taylor Swift performed in Kansas City during the Eras Tour.

The owner says one of Swift’s backup singers visited the store, bought an outfit, and posted it online, which helped draw more attention and customers. The moment leads Rebecca to buy the pantsuit and reflect on the idea of women supporting women, giving the scene a light but pointed sense of sisterhood.

Executive producer Jamie Lee said the reference grew out of the writers’ room, where Swift was already part of the conversation while the season was being written. She noted that some writers had attended the Eras Tour, others wanted to go, and that Swift was impossible to avoid discussing because of how prominent she is in culture. The Kansas City stop also carries an extra layer of real-world relevance, since it was the show’s reported inspiration for the singer’s meet-cute with Travis Kelce. Ted Lasso season four is streaming on Apple TV now.
