Teyana Taylor is still taking in the experience of performing alongside Jay-Z at the finale of his Yankee Stadium residency. A day after appearing onstage during the third and final night of the run, Taylor posted a message on Instagram thanking the rap icon and reflecting on what the moment meant to her.
During the “Extra Innings” show, Taylor helped open the set by stepping in for Mary J. Blige’s part on “Can’t Knock the Hustle,” the standout track from Jay-Z’s 1996 debut album, Reasonable Doubt. In her post, she acknowledged that there were sound issues during the performance, but said the appreciation she felt outweighed any technical problems. She described standing beside Jay-Z at Yankee Stadium, in front of more than 40,000 fans, as a dreamlike moment for someone who grew up in Harlem.
She also thanked Jay-Z for inviting her to be part of what she called an iconic night and said she would never take that kind of opportunity for granted. Taylor added that the experience was one she would carry with her forever.
Jay-Z’s three-night series at Yankee Stadium took place on July 10, 11, and 12, 2026, and marked anniversaries for Reasonable Doubt and The Blueprint, along with an “Extra Innings” celebration for fans. Across the run, a long list of major artists joined him, including Beyoncé, Rihanna, Usher, Fat Joe, Jadakiss, Pharrell Williams, Clipse, Alicia Keys, Eminem, and Nas.
