Scrolling through social media recently we’ve come across one phrase over and over again—mid-size fashion. And with the body positivity movement becoming more and more trendy, it makes sense that the mid-size fashion social movement has taken off. To date, #midsizefashion has over 526 million views, and here’s what it’s all about.

Mid-size body type is often talked about as its standard sizes and extended sizes. It refers to those who are a bit above what society refers to as traditional sizing, but aren’t in the plus-sized category. So pretty much the standard American. It’s the gray area that is often overlooked. In general, mid-size fashion ranges from a size 10 to 16 in women’s sizing.

Most people who fall into the category aren’t used to seeing their body type represented on social media and it’s quite refreshing to finally see all bodies shown. All bodies are beautiful! Everyone should start embracing their bodies.

In regards to brands that specialize in mid-size fashion, most brands don’t specifically cater to it, but they offer a range of sizes. These brands include Free People, Topshop, ASOS, Good American, American Eagle, Aerie, and Amazon.

It’s about time mid-size fashion became a movement! We’re here for it!
