Thispersondoesnotexist.com Uses AI to Generate Endless Fake Faces

If you visit Thispersondoesnotexist website, you’ll find yourself face-to-face with… well, a person who doesn’t exist. Every time you hit refresh, the software will generate a new fake face using artificial intelligence.

“Each time you refresh the site, the network will generate a new facial image from scratch,” writes Philip Wang, a software engineer at Uber, in a Facebook post. “Most people do not understand how good AIs will be at synthesizing images in the future.”

The algorithm behind the website uses a huge dataset of real images to generate faces that don’t actually exist. Awesome or terrifying? You decide.
