After threats of a potential leak, Sony finally dropped the highly-anticipated trailer for Spider-Man: No Way Home, and it was definitely worth the wait. The new film will see Peter Parker’s secret identity as Spider-Man exposed to the entire world, and here are some of the most important takeaways from the first trailer.

Marvel’s Multiverse

Disney+ shows WandaVision and Loki already explored the concept of the multiverse, but No Way Home will dive even deeper. The first trailer shows Dr. Stephen Strange potentially meddling with the sacred timeline in an attempt to help Peter go back to when no one knew that he’s Spider-Man.

Doctor Octopus’ Return

No line in the new trailer lingered longer than Alfred Molina’s iconic “Hello, Peter.” The veteran actor is set to return as Doctor Octopus, reprising the role he previously played in Sony’s Spider-Man 2, but he won’t be the only iconic character to make a comeback.

Willem Dafoe and Jamie Foxx are set to reprise their roles from the previous Spider-Man movies in No Way Home, but the only hint of their return is Green Goblin’s pumpkin bombs. Fans are also speculating that we’ll get to see Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield return to the role of Peter Parker, but the rumors were never confirmed and they haven’t made a cameo in the first trailer.
