While 2020 has been a year many of us can’t wait to be over, we’ve also discovered many new talents and skills including learning how to be our own makeup artists. And that’s about to get a lot easier now that Google has partnered with ModiFace and Perfect Corp. to allow you to virtually try-on beauty products. This literally takes the guesswork out of shopping for makeup online, which is hard to do as you can’t know how the product will look on your skin tone.

ModiFace, founded by L’Oréal, and Perfect Corp., which owns YouCam, have collaborated with Google to allow customers to try-on products from brands including L’Oréal Paris, MAC, Black Opal, and Charlotte Tilbury before buying them.

The new feature was rolled out on December 17, and to use it, download the Google app and search for a specific beauty product like lipsticks or mascaras. After you find it, you can see what it looks like on different skin tones, compare the textures and shades, and virtually try on the products until you find what you’re searching for.

This feature really is a game changer in the beauty industry and we hope other brands are added to the new feature.
