Fashion designer and a current artistic director of Louis Vuitton’s men’s wear collection, Virgil Abloh, released his first jewelry collection under his own name. But, the jewelry is made of an unconvencional material – paperclips.

“It’s a paper clip, but it’s also pavé diamonds made in a very specific way,” Abloh said. “I’ve been developing those for three years.”

His collection is currently available for pre-order at a pop-up shop in Paris. It includes a necklace, earrings, and another accessory that hasn’t been announced yet.

Though the info about the prices hasn’t been revealed yet, it’s believed that Abloh’s collection will be quite pricey. One thing that will surely raise the cost of his jewelry will be the diamonds he put on it. The designer describes his collection as “high jewelry for all.”

He’s not alone in thinking that a regular paperclip can be an inspiration for so much more. In 2007, Margiela released a brass paperclip necklace; last year, J Crew sold a gold-plated paperclip necklace, while Prada has a single paperclip selling for $170.
