All hell broke loose after Taylor Swift decided to surprise us with the re-recorded version of her smash hit “Wildest Dream” last week. Her fans immediately started coming up with new theories about the singer’s future plans for her re-recorded albums, but what is she really up to?

“Red” (Taylor’s Version)

Long before sharing the new version of “Wildest Dreams”, Swift announced she’s working on the re-recorded version of her fourth studio album Red. It will hit the shelves on November 19th and feature new versions of old songs and several “from the vault” tracks we’ve never got to hear before, including collaborations with Phoebe Bridgers, Chris Stapleton, and Ed Sheeran.

“1989” (Taylor’s Version)

Despite the fact that Swift already announced Red as her next re-recorded album, some passionate fans now believe that she’ll give us a new version of 1989 first. “Wildest Dreams” was originally featured on this album, and that’s the reason why Swifties came up with this theory.

According to the singer, there’s no special agenda behind the surprise release of the new version of “Wildest Dreams”. She simply did it because the song was trending on TikTok, but can we really trust her on this one? Swift is no stranger to deceiving her fans and announcing new albums only a few hours before they drop. It wouldn’t be a huge shocker if she did it once again with the re-recorded version of 1989, but she’s yet to make things official.
