We’ve been seeing a trend on Instagram lately—people are spraying salt water on their faces. Weird—right? So what’s it all about? Salt water treats acne, which many of us suffer from for the first time since we were teens due to having to wear masks all the time. Is salt water the affordable acne treatment we’ve been missing?

Social media is a gem when it comes to finding beauty hacks and the sea salt water treatment was sharted by TikTok user Aubryn Jade. She believes the reason for her clear skin lies in sea salt. The video already has 1.4 million likes.

“I was like, ‘What do I have to lose?’ I’ve tried everything to cure my acne,” she says. “I’m 31 and I’ve had acne since I was a teenager,” she says in the video.

After spending tons of time and money on acne medication, this simple hack seems too good to be true. But sea salt can draw out oils from the skin, balances your skin’s pH levels, and kills bacteria. So, there must be something to it. We don’t see the harm in this one so, we’re willing to give it a try.
