Why are Celebrities Posing Outfit Selfies in Givenchy?

While scrolling through Instagram you may have noticed that tons of celebrities, musicians, and athletes are posing in a certain brand—Givenchy. The brand’s under the new direction of Matthew M. Williams, who’s targeting a younger audience. After debuting his Spring/Summer 2021 collection at Paris Fashion Week, we started seeing celebrities posting outfit selfies in the brand.

What started with Kendall Jenner posing at home in a crystal dress from Givenchy was then followed up two days later with Bella Hadid wearing a mesh top with satin overlay, a quilted tote, and Givenchy’s horn heels. But it doesn’t stop there—Barbie Ferreira, Kylie Jenner, Travis Scott, Kim Kardashian, Kaia Gerber, Fai Khadra, King Von, Lil Durk, Irene Kim, and more have shown the designer’s works.

Williams even got supermodel veterans Naomi Campbell and Kate Moss, and longtime Givenchy muses Liv Tyler, Julianne Moore, and Laura Dern, to join in on the social media craze.

The celebrities posing in the clothes represents a wide range of industries including athletes, rappers, singers, models, influencers, and stylists. And with social distancing this year, social media campaigns are becoming the norm.

“The Maison’s unique position and timeless aura make it an undeniable icon and I am looking forward to working together with its ateliers and teams, to move it into a new era, based on modernity and inclusivity. . . . In these unprecedented times for the world, I want to send a message of hope, together with my community and colleagues, and intend to contribute towards positive change,” Williams said in a statement after appointment at Givenchy.
