Why’s Kelly Clarkson Wearing an Eye Patch?

If you’re tuning in to the second season of Kelly Clarkson’s TV show, The Kelly Clarkson Show, whether it be on a television set or just through clips on YouTube, you’re probably wondering why Kelly has been wearing an eye patch lately. Is it hyper-festivity about Halloween? Well, unfortunately, the story isn’t quite so fun.

In reality, it all comes down to a bit of dust. While working on the set of The Voice, for which she’s a judge, it turns out that a bit of dust got into Kelly’s eye, potentially scratching it. Add that to an intense allergy to dust and you get inflammation, puffiness, and maybe even infection.

Kelly’s eye is all better now, but she did film six episodes of her show wearing the eye patch, which won’t all air consecutively, so you may see it pop up here and there for the close future.

Thankfully, the injury didn’t hurt Kelly’s sense of humor, and she was able to laugh away the whole situation with her characteristic breezy sarcasm.
