Would You Try a Peanut Butter Pickle Sandwich?

If you’re like most people, your first association with the words “peanut butter” must be “jelly,” as these two make an iconic sweet sandwich loved by many generations. However, those curious for new tastes have discovered a combination of peanut butter and pickles, and they claim it’s delicious.

The peanut butter pickle sandwich went viral (again) after the New York Times shared their old recipe, which was initially published in 2012. It started a debate in the comments section as it always does, but this time, more people than ever claim that we should give this thing a chance.

“This is a real recipe that’s on our site: a Peanut Butter and Pickle Sandwich. NYT book critic @dwightgarner calls it ‘a thrifty and unacknowledged American classic.’ Is he… on to something?” asked the outlet on their Instagram page NYT Cooking.

Most of the comments we see don’t agree this is a good idea, but as we dug deeper we found numerous people claiming that this is the favorite food of their family, and that they consider it comfort food, which is probably the best compliment food can get.
