Foles and the Bears offense looked terrible last week in their 19-11 loss to the Indianapolis Colts, and while they didn’t look great this week either, they did enough to get the win.

The Bears are now 4-1 and in second place in the NFC North, right behind the undefeated Green Bay Packers, who have a bye week and will face Tampa Bay in Week 6.

Foles orchestrated the come-from-behind win late in the fourth quarter, driving the offense down the field and getting them within field goal range. With less than two minutes to go in the game, Bears kicker Cairo Santos hit a 38-yard field goal to give the Bears a one-point lead.

Despite Hurrican Delta steadily approaching the Gulf Coast, the New Orleans Saints have decided to stay in town, despite offers from the NFL to evacuate to Indianapolis.

According to the team, the latest storm forecasts are projecting that the hurricane will be moving west and that New Orleans is not expected to be hit severely.

The Saints are scheduled to host the Los Angeles Chargers in New Orleans on Monday night. Reports claim that the NFL offered the Saints to move the game to Indianapolis since the Colts are scheduled to play the Browns in Cleveland in Week 5.

If the hurricane does end up hitting New Orleans worse than expected in the coming days, the NFL has contingency plans in place to evacuate the team to Indianapolis and make sure that the game is played. The last time the Saints had to use the Indianapolis facility because of extreme weather conditions was when Hurricane Gustav hit New Orleans in 2008.

Hurricane Delta was listed as a Category 4 storm earlier in the week but has since been downgraded to Category 2 status.

The Atlanta Braves and Florida Marlins clearly do not like each other. This was made evident once again in Atlanta’s 9-5 come-from-behind win in Game 1 of their National League Division Series.

A lot of the tension centers around the way the Marlins pitching staff treats Braves lead-off batter Ronald Acuna Jr.

Acuna had a lead-off homer to start the game in the first inning, slowly walking to first base and tossing his bat as he watched the ball sail over the fence.

The Braves claim that the plunking of Acuna woke up the team, and gave them the spark they needed to recover after trailing 4-1.

After Acuna was hit, the Braves got back-to-back doubles to cut the lead down to 4-3. They got two more singles in the seventh and Marcell Ozuna added another one to tie up the game. Travis d’Arnaud broke the game open with a three-run homer, putting the Braves up 7-4, after which Dansby Swanson added a two-run homer to seal the victory for the Braves.

The Los Angeles Lakers defeated the Miami Heat 102-96 in Game 4 of the NBA finals and are now one win away from securing the franchise’s first title in a decade.

Anthony Davis had 22 points, nine rebounds, and four assists for the Lakers, hitting a three-point dagger with 39.5 seconds left to seal the win for Los Angeles. Lebron James casually added 28 points, 12 rebounds, and eight assists to help give the Lakers a 3-1 lead in the best-of-seven series.

The Lakers had a complete game and looked focused, with nearly everyone in the starting lineup contributing. Danny Green added 10 points and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope scored another 15.

Miami was once again led by Jimmy Butler, who scored 22 points. They got 21 points from rookie Tyler Herro, 17 from Duncan Robinson, and 15 from Bam Adebayo, who didn’t look fully healthy after missing the last two games with a neck injury.

Butler must now rally the Heat and try to put together three straight wins if they want to complete an improbable upset.

Los Angeles and Miami will have a few days off to prepare for Game 5, which will be played on Saturday.

The New York Yankees offense has looked unstoppable in the postseason thus far, continuing its assault in a dominant 9-3 win over the Tampa Bay Rays in Game 1 of the American League Division Series.

The Yanks were injured a lot during the season, but none of that matters in the playoffs now that they are healthy and firing on all cylinders. In just three postseason games, the Yankees have scored 31 runs and now lead the Rays 1-0 in the best-of-five series.

The Yankees are now the first team in MLB history to hit at least three home runs in their first three playoff games and haven’t scored less than 9 runs in any of their postseason games thus far.

On the defensive side, the Yankees top starter Gerrit Cole was not untouchable but was good enough to get the win, giving up only three runs in six innings and striking out eight batters. Rookie pitcher Delvi Garcia will get the start for the Yanks in Game 2.

The Heat was not only down 2-0 in the series but was also missing Goran Drazic and Bam Adebayo, two of their most important starters. But in Game 3, all they needed was a brilliant performance from Butler, who recorded a triple-double with 40 points, 13 assists, and 11 rebounds.

Butler has shown during these playoffs that he plays best when his team’s back is up against the wall. Down 2-0 in the finals was the perfect time for him to prove it again, lifting the underdog Heat and leading them to the near-perfect game they needed to take a game from the star-studded Lakers, led by Lebron James and Anthony Davis.

The Heat won 115-104, avoiding the sweep and giving the team a renewed sense of confidence.

Butler played an incredibly physical game that saw him scoring almost all of his points from the interior. He was able to score 40 points without attempting a single three-pointer and shooting only two shots all night from beyond 15 feet.

Miami still isn’t sure whether they will have Dragic or Adebayo back for Game 4 on Tuesday, but if Butler keeps playing the way he did in Game 3, they might not even need them to tie up the series at two games apiece.

When the Cleveland Browns made a deal with the New York Giants to bring star wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. to Cleveland in a blockbuster trade, this is exactly the type of performance that they wanted to see on a regular basis.

OBJ finally looked like his old self and easily played the best game he has ever played in a Browns jersey, scoring three touchdowns in a wild 49-38 win over the Cowboys.

Back in the stadium where Beckham made the infamous one-handed catch with the Giants that launched him into stardom, the star wide receiver seems to always show up when he plays in Dallas.

His first touchdown catch came on a trick play in which fellow WR Jarvis Landry, and one of Beckham’s best friends since playing together in college at LSU, threw him a 37-yard pass in the endzone. He then caught another more traditional one from quarterback Baker Mayfield in the second quarter.

The Browns were up 41-14 one point, but the Cowboys rallied back to cut the lead to only three points.

It was then when OBJ scored his third touchdown, essentially ending the game with a 50-yard touchdown run on an end-around.

Things are finally looking up for the Browns, who start the season 3-1 for the first time since 2001.

In a battle of two bad teams on Thursday night, the New York Jets proved that they just might be the worst team in the NFL.

The Jets lost 37-28 to a Denver Broncos team that was led by third-string quarterback Brett Rypien, who signed with the team as an undrafted free agent.

Both the Broncos and Jets started off the season losing all of their first three games. Denver has been decimated by injury, losing their best player on defense for the year before the season started, Von Miller, and then losing their young, starting quarterback Drew Lock in Week 2 to a shoulder injury.

The Jets have been the Jets. Most expected them to be bad again this year, and they are, making boneheaded mistakes in nearly every phase of the game.

Jets QB Sam Darnold gave the team a spark after running for a 46-yard touchdown but was once again unable to have a good night throwing the ball, mainly due to terrible pass protection. He exited the game with a sprained shoulder after being slammed to the ground on a sack but battled to reenter the game after veteran Joe Flacco came in for a bit. The Jets offensive line was missing two key pieces, Mekhi Becton and Chuma Edoga, who both sat with injuries.

On the other side of the ball, Rypien looked good early but showed why he was a UDFA, tossing three interceptions, one that ended up being a pick-6, in the second half.

In the end, the team that made the least mistakes won. The Jets had 11 penalties called on them for 118 yards, six of which were personal fouls.

According to anonymous sources close to the Philadelphia 76ers, Rivers will be signing a five-year contract to become the team’s new head coach. The new owner of the XFL league, actor and former professional wrestler Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson announced that the football league is looking to make a triumphant return in the spring of 2022.

Johnson and his partner Dany Garcia bought the the failed football league for $15 million.

The XFL filed for bankruptcy after the COVID-19 pandemic hit, forcing the league to shut down its season after just a few weeks in April. Even though viewership started off strong with more than six million fans tuning in for week one, the numbers steadily went down every week.

The league was founded by WWE CEO Vince McMahon back in 2001, so it makes sense that a former professional wrestler like Johnson would be someone who would want to take another stab at trying to resurrect the league.

The XFL only played one full season back in 2001, which ended with a loss of $70 million before McMahon tried to bring it back again this year.

It will be interesting to see what Johnson and Garcia plan to do in order to turn the XFL around and find a way to keep fans engaged and coming back to the league week after week.
