BTS never had trouble creating buzz for their new songs, and they’re doing it better than ever with their latest single “Butter”. Poised to be one of the songs of summer 2021, “Butter” has already set several major records since its release and the best is yet to come.

The retro music video for “Butter” premiered on YouTube and set several major records along the way. It’s currently the most-viewed YouTube video in the first 24 hours with 108.2 million views. It’s also the fastest YouTube video to reach 10 million views in just 13 minutes, and also the fastest video to reach 100 million views on this video-sharing platform.

YouTube isn’t the only platform that “Butter” is ruling right now. This song broke Spotify’s all-time record for the biggest song debut in the platform’s history and also had the largest single-day streams of any song ever. According to Big Hit Music, the song also debuted at no. 1 on iTunes Top Songs chart in 101 different regions, including the U.S. and Canada.

Live Performances

BTS delivered their first live performance of “Butter” at the 2021 Billboard Music Awards. The K-pop band is also set to appear on Late Show with Stephen Colbert on May 25th. “Butter” will start airing on contemporary hit radio stations that same day, and we’re yet to see how this will reflect on its success on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
