Get ready to step back into the world where magic is real and adventures await at every corner! Warner Bros. Discovery, joining forces with HBOMax, is bringing a spellbinding announcement to Harry Potter fans worldwide: a new TV series based on J.K. Rowling’s iconic novels is in the making. Here’s what we know so far.

A New Era for Harry Potter Fans

The series will premiere around 2025 or 2026, so we still have a bit to wait. But the commitment to a 10 consecutive year run by HBO & Max Content Chairman and CEO, Casey Bloys, suggests a comprehensive and detailed retelling of the Harry Potter story. It should be worth the wait. With so much screen time, there will probably be some expansions compared to what we’ve seen before.

Casting and Production Details

While the casting process is still in the early stages, it’s clear that the series will feature a new set of actors, bringing fresh faces to the beloved characters. But one piece has been confirmed: J.K. Rowling will be an executive producer, so fans can remain assured that the adaptation of the seven books will be faithful.
